The long awaited transition of Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) to a University is at advanced stage and will soon be implemented according to the decision recently reached during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja, which approved a comprehensive reform of Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
This came timely when the Minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu declared end to the discrepancy between the holders of Higher National Diploma, and Bachelor degrees as well as conversion of the nation’s two most prominent Polytechnics, Yaba College of Technology and Kaduna Polytechnic to City University of Technology respectively.
The Federal House of Representatives committee on Tertiary Education and Services led by its Chairman, Hon. Aminu Suleiman while on an oversight visit to the College for the 2018 finance of the institution said the visit is also in line with the transition of Yabatech to a City University.
While paperwork on the conversion is ongoing at the Federal level, the Rector of Yabatech, Engr. Obafemi Omokungbe lamented on the shortage of personnels in the institution stressing that “recruitment has been crippled due to budget constraints and approval by the federal government. He also said that there is need for physical development of the premier institution to meet global standards.
“The college has introduced new accredited programmes which has called for physical expansion; Epe campus being our focus. Epe campus is an extension of Yaba College of Technology with low physical development”, he stressed.
The directive has been given by the College Management for payment of Acceptance fee of twenty-five thousand naira only. for 2018/2019 academic session by all newly-admitted candidates effective from Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

After successful payment, click on upload passport page, click the link "Proceed to online fingerprint enrollment" and print your Data form from there.

Note that; Yabatech and most schools won’t give you the transcript. They will rather send it to the school that is requesting for it.
Yabatech transcript is of two types; the local transcript and the international transcript. The international transcript cost 12,500 Naira while the local transcript cost 5,000 Naira.
Difference between the International Transcript and Local Transcript
The International transcript is for students who want to study abroad while the local transcript is for students who want to study within Nigeria. The difference in price is due to the amount that will be used to transport the international transcript to the school of choice.
Note: Other African countries are also referred to as “Abroad”
How to Apply for Yabatech Transcript
The steps and procedures are easy. Follow the steps below to apply for Yabatech transcript.
Under the full-time or part-time tab, click on Transcript
Click on the login page at the top of the page.
Enter your Matric Number in the right format and click Apply.
If your Matric number is correct, the next page will autofill your details. If not, you fill the form yourself.

Using the Image above, select Transcript programme and Transcript type, Click on continue.
On the next page, click on “pay now”
Click on “Make payment”. The page will look like the image below.
Select “card” from the options provided and click proceed.
Enter your card details and click okay.
Select payment Authentication method; either Hardware token or software token and click button to continue.
If you chose hardware token, press your token device and input the code generated. If you chose software token, a code would be sent to your phone, Input the code in the space provided and submit.
The next page should show a confirmation that your payment has been confirmed.
After Yabatech transcript payment has been made, you write a letter to the deputy rector stating the school address where you want the Transcript to be sent to.
How to Address the Letter to the Deputy rector
The letter should be addressed to the deputy rector in this format;
